  • Don Beetem

    Lead Pastor

Originally hired in 2000 as the Associate Pastor of Student Ministries, Don has served as the Senior Pastor since June 2017.   He has been married to Dana since 1997.  They have seven adopted children: Adanech, Tsadaalu and Emmanuel from Ethiopia,  twin boys Caleb and Joshua (Elijah), Ricky and Micah Dianne from the Philippines.  Don graduated from Moody Bible Institute with a bachelor degree in youth ministry.  He teaches Bible classes at Faith Bible Christian Academy, and also helps out with the Taylorville High School wrestling team.  His hobbies are baseball, football, wrestling, dodge ball, board games, fishing, and hanging out with people.

Don's sports loyalties are the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, Pittsburg Steelers and Pittsburg Penguins.  His favorite foods are Buffalo wings, Chicago deep dish pizza, ribeye steak, and Charro's street tacos.  One of Don's passions is to see individuals grow in their faith in Jesus Christ.

Don always believed that the Chicago Cubs would win the World Series in his lifetime -- a belief that he has seen turn to reality .  One of Don's favorite childhood memories is playing baseball all summer long from morning to dusk in his friend's backyard.  His favorite Bible verse is Romans 5:8: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Some things that most people don't know about Don is that his favorite color is brown and that his nickname in high school was Beets.

  • Jonathan Sorensen

    Co-Pastor

Jonathan first entered pastoral ministry in 2016 where he served in his home church in Minnesota, first as a pastoral intern and then as an associate pastor. From a young age God had been continually directing Jonathan to go into full-time ministry. In his first semester of college, he had intended to pursue Golf Course Management as a career in hopes of being a clubhouse pro. God had other plans for Jonathan. The following year, 2013, Jonathan began attending Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa where he graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Bible Exposition and Exegesis with a minor in Biblical Languages (Hebrew and Greek).

Jonathan has always wanted to be a pastor like his father, except for the time he saw a bird out a window at age 4 and said, "I want to be a bird!" Today, he has a strong passion for God's Word. He loves to teach the Word, preach the Word, and encourage others with the Word.

He married his wife, Trisha, in May 2015. They enjoy watching movies and TV shows together, putting puzzles together while watching Disney movies, playing board games and card games, and reading together. Jonathan's hobbies include: reading, hunting, watching sports (football, basketball, baseball, and golf), playing games with others, and golfing. He is a Chicago Cubs fan, but more importantly, he is a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan.

One of his many favorite Bible verses is Romans 8:1: "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."

  • Cindy Enzor

    Music Director

Cindy has served as Music/Worship Director at TEFC since 2001.  She loves to plan weekly services, rehearsing the Praise Teams, and leading Sunday morning worship.  Cindy began her music career teaching music in public schools after receiving a Bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University.  Then she felt God calling her to music ministry in 1985.  She received her Master's degree in 1987 from Southern Methodist University and has been serving in music ministry since then.

Cindy also stays busy teaching piano and voice lessons in her home studio.  She is a professional accompanist for the local public schools.  When that isn't keeping her busy, she is spoiling her grandkids or fixing delicious meals.  Her favorite hobbies include card making, reading, cooking and baking and rooting for her favorite team, the Chicago Cubs.

Cindy's favorite book of the Bible is the Psalms.  "It is full of music!"  One favorite passage is Psalm 25:4-5, "Show me your ways Lord, teach me your paths.  Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long."  She uses Psalm 27:1 as her life verse.  "The Lord is my light and my salvation -- whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life -- of whom shall I be afraid?"  Cindy feels very blessed to be able to serve God through music.
